"Mehr RAM = besser" vs. "Schnellerer RAM": Das ist ein Klassiker. Kapazität (Menge) schlägt fast immer Geschwindigkeit (MHz/MT/s). Wenn dein System 32GB braucht und du nur 16GB hast, bringt dir der schnellste RAM der Welt nichts – dann fängt die Kiste an zu swappen (auf die SSD auszulagern), und das ist der absolute Performance-Killer. Erst die Menge, dann der Takt. |

ECC (Error Correction Code): RAM, der sich selbst auf Fehler prüft. Wichtig für Server oder Workstations, wo ein Bit-Fehler zum Systemabsturz führen kann. Für Gaming oder Office absolut unnötig, meistens auch gar nicht kompatibel. |

Buffered / Registered RAM: Das ist das Pendant zu ECC. Der RAM hat einen eigenen Controller-Chip, um die CPU bei riesigen Kapazitäten zu entlasten. Läuft auf keinem normalen Gaming-Mainboard – Finger weg, wenn du keine Server-Hardware hast! |

Die "Auto"-Falle: Wenn du RAM kaufst, der mit "6000 MT/s" beworben wird, läuft der oft im BIOS erstmal nur mit dem JEDEC-Standard (z.B. 4800 MT/s). Du musst also im BIOS/UEFI erst XMP (Intel) oder EXPO (AMD) aktivieren, damit der RAM auch wirklich mit dem Speed läuft, für den du bezahlt hast. |

MT/s vs. MHz: Viele sagen "MHz", aber technisch korrekt sind bei DDR (Double Data Rate) MT/s. Da DDR pro Taktzyklus zwei Datenpakete schickt, entspricht ein 3200 MT/s Riegel physikalisch 1600 MHz Takt. |
